FAQ's (Event Hosts)

How do I create an event?

Creating an event is exciting! Create your first event here. After you register or log in, there’s a quick 4-step process to create an event, asking you for information like the event’s name, description, and date/time.

Once an event is created, you’ll have your own branded event page. When you’re creating your event, keep branding in mind! Branding your event is done by uploading a great photo and adding a strong title and description to grab the attention of your audience. If you change your mind on a detail after the fact, you can always edit the event’s information later.

What are the Advanced features I can include in my event?

On Step 4 of 4 of creating an event, you’ll notice that there is an “Advanced” button. Advanced has several optional settings that allow you to:

  1. Invite someone else as the presenter
  2. Add polling question to sort breakout groups
  3. Add custom post-event feedback questions
  4. Remove participant login
  5. Make the event recording publicly available to your audience

I just created my first event. How do I make sure it’s a success?

Once you’ve created an event, the next step is to make sure people attend! Promote your event page link and follow the RSVP tracking to see who is signing up.

The next step is to make sure you’re ready to host an incredible event. Use our green room to make sure your wifi/camera/microphone are working well. If you are planning to use the screenshare feature, make sure you are using the browser Google Chrome. You can also test the screenshare feature in the green room.

The TEST CAMERA button on your event link will turn to JOIN EVENT 15 minutes before the event start time.

When you click the link to begin your event, you are not visible to your audience until you hit the button “GO LIVE”. Now you are visible to your audience and your broadcast has begun.

Just like a live event, take care of some housekeeping- explain to your audience how to use the text chat box, raise hand function and then discuss how you will use the breakout groups. You can message the breakout group but they cannot message you back. Discuss how you will handle the text chat box and raise hand function. Also, if you have custom feedback questions, make sure to remind your audience to fill them out once the event is over!

What is the Raise Hand Function?

You can bring up anyone from the audience, and their video stream will split the screen with you. Both of your video streams will be broadcast to your audience.

By allowing audience members to raise their hand, you’re notified that a participant has a question they’d like to ask you. Bringing them up is optional.

Can I have a co-presenter?

Yes. Once you begin your event, you can request any audience member’s video stream to join you via the Raise Hand Function. The result will be a split screen video. This is great for a co-presenter, a featured speaker, or if anyone in the audience has a question that they’d like to ask you. Co-presentation is also a great idea if you want a moderator to help you respond to questions in the live text chat or with any other aspect of your presentation.

What does it cost to host events?

For a limited time, you can host your first event for free with up to 50 attendees! For more information on pricing, email us at contact@oneclick.chat.

Can I share my screen?

Yes! But you’ll need to be on the browser Google Chrome. If you visit the green room, you can download the screen sharing plugin for Chrome and test it out.

What’s the maximum number of participants I can have for an event?

There’s no maximum number of participants for an event. We do require an organizer to reach out to our team if they anticipate an audience of over 500 people for an event. You can do this by reaching out to contact@oneclick.chat

Can I record events?

Events on our platform are recorded by default. Only the video stream in the presentation mode is recorded, never anything in the breakout groups. You can choose to have this recording unlisted by clicking on the “Advanced” button on the 4th step of creating an event. If it is unlisted, only the presenter will have access to it.

After the event is over, it will take around 1 hour to buffer, then the recording of your event will be available on your Organization page under the “Past Events” header.

How do I best use breakout groups?

Breakout groups are an exciting feature on our platform that provides an opportunity for the audience to interact with each other in small video breakout groups. When you are creating an event, you can select breakout group size. We recommend breakout groups of 4ppl because we’ve found it is optimal for great conversation, but they can be as large as 9ppl.

During an event, the breakout groups are an excellent way to increase engagement. You can send the audience into breakout groups to discuss your topic further, collaborate on a task you provide them, or to simply network and meet each other. The opportunities are endless!

Since users cannot contact you while they’re in breakout groups, we’ve found it best to have audience members share their experience once you bring them back from breakout groups. Take advantage of the Raise Hand functionality to see who is interested in sharing what their breakout groups discussed!

How long is a recorded event on my landing page? Can I download it for my records?

The recording is stored on your organization page for 60 days. You can download it any time for your records.

What feedback can I view after my event has ended?

By default, we include three feedback questions to understand if the audience enjoyed the event and if they found the technology easy to use. When creating the event with Advanced options, you have the ability to add up to 3 custom feedback questions if there is something specific you would like to ask the audience.

Are there any free trials?

For a limited time, you can host your first event for free with up to 50 attendees! For more information on pricing or if you want a demo led by someone on our team, reach out to contact@oneclick.chat.

Can I add a polling question during the event?

On the Advanced setting when you are creating an event, you can add a polling question that users will be prompted to answer before they enter an event. This can help determine which breakout groups they are placed into. The polling question must be input prior to the event -- we currently don’t have live polling during an event.
